Yellows on the plain
Roll over mounds silently
A duck pond is still.
Controlled Burn
Charcoal invades wheat
Ashes floating passed hawk’s watch
Harvest is later.
Red-Winged Blackbird
Fluttering wings cut
The marshy air is disturbed
Mom’s favourite bird.
Buffalo Farm
Symbols of the past
Stand stoically, tough, bored.
We used to be chased.
